Chocolates, nuts, and gifts!
For one week each year, Centreville, MI became the reigning candy king in the county when The Tasty Nut Shop moved to the fairgrounds. 2022 is the first year it didn't open at the fair. Read the Sturgis Journal article about us.

Nuts From All Over the World, Delicious Home Made Candies, and a Real 1950's Soda Fountain!

The Tasty Nut Shop Store Front
The Tasty Nut Shop, with its widespread fame for the variety and quality of its roasted nuts, was a White Pigeon landmark for over 90 years.
Stepping into the Tasty Nut Shop & Soda Bar was like stepping back in time. This quaint shop offered a little taste of history with its selection of fresh roasted nuts, candy, chocolates, and sodas. Owner Marjorie Hamminga bought the shop in 1986 and began redecorating it in January of 1992, using the colors of Coca Cola red and turquoise to match the 1950's soda bar in the back of the store. Coca Cola collectibles and and old-fashioned soda fountain added to the atmosphere.
However, the shop dates further back than the 1950's. It was opened in 1920 as the David Hotchin Drug Store owned by John Davis and his brother-in-law. In the middle 1920's one of the workers began roasting pecans, at the request of the owners, and the roasted nuts became a big hit. Since then there were many owners, each adding their own special treats.
The Tasty Nut Shop was one of those places that beckoned to you from the sidewalk with the wonderful, mingling smells of chocolate and roasted nuts.
